I saw it yesterday in the Forbidden Planet store in Glasgow -

- unfortunately it was literally as I was leaving the store to catch the train back to work that I spotted it, so I only had time to pick it up, feel the sheer heft of it (this is a THICK book!), check out the copyright page - yep, revised 2nd Edition, 2007! - before putting it back and heading to the train station.

(I didn't buy that particular copy, not at full price ?16.99 - about $34.00 - when I can get it half price off the internet.)

So it's there, folks - it's physically out on the shelves!!!

Play.com has got it in stock for ?11.49

http://www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/3398 ... oduct.html

and Amazon.co.uk has it for ?9.34... only they don't have it in stock yet!

Thank you so much for the info AND checking the copyright page!

I've checked out the UK publisher's site, and Amazon (UK), and while it's listed there is no mention of it being a 2nd edition. Weird.

It was a paperback, correct?

I have a friend at Harper Collins, I'm going to send her an email and see if she knows of a US streetdate.

I see from another thread that it's in cloth (hardcover). Which, on one hand is kind of cool (since I like HC versions), but at the same time, it's more expensive, and akin the 'new edition' price gouging with school textbooks. Unless there's a CRAPload of new material, it really doesn't justify releasing the revised edition in cloth (in my opinion, anyway)...

Then again, it has been ten years since the last one...and perhaps if it's successful they'll finally release the Alien one.

I've been waiting for it to show "in stock" on Amazon UK because I want to order it and 5 other UK books and do not want to have to pay the expensive shipping to the US twice as they would divide the shipment up by the books that are in stock and ship Future Noir later.

This really stinks because I've been itching to read through my copy of FN, and then I hear about a new edition out somewhere in the world...but no mention locally...

I guess I'll apply the ointment and dig out my old paperback.

Huh...still waiting for the US to get the book. Not that I'm against ordering it from the UK, I just want to see it made available here too.
