A new project of mine -- BR: the LA Punk Scene Connection

I just got in contact with Paul Roessler, who is at this point one of the real statesmen (not elder, but statesman) of the LA Alt Rock music scene. I finally got up the courage to ask him about being an extra on the set of Blade Runner and about the other people from the LA punk rock scene who were extras. I've got a list of 5 other people and he promises to find out who the other people were.

Right now here's the "Honor Roll"
Paul Roessler (The Germs, The Screamers, Nina Hagen Band, Nervous Gender, Geza X and the Mommymen, Twisted Roots, DC3, Saccharine Trust, Burnt Church rock opera, solo artist)
Pat Smear (The most famous one -- he later went on to be an adjunct member of Nirvana and appeared in the "Nirvana Unplugged" special.)
Leroy Jones
Spazz Attack (Not only a punk scenester but a dancer with Toni Basil's group, a part of DEVO's extended family during their heyday, and later went on to play keyboards with Bowie during his Glass Spider tour.)
Emil McKown
Maggie Ehrig (Twisted Roots, movie bit parts, movie costume design)

I will be building a new web page documenting who was there, what bands they were in, and so on. Damn those guys were lucky!
Yes, I really live in Los Angeles. Srsly. And yeah, life really does imitate art here. Especially now we've got those video billboards. No spinners yet. But I suppose that's next.

Hopefully when the site goes up I'll get some interviews from the folks on the honor roll.
