I played through it on Sega CD (which seems to regarded by many as the best version available). The creator, Hideo Kojima (also created the Metal Gear series), is a huge Blade Runner fan and it really shows here. There are tons of nods to BR, both subtle and blatant. Quite a treat for BR fans. Despite the fact that the game can be fairly basic in terms of gameplay, I thought it was amazing. Goes to show how much atmosphere and story can do for a game. As far as playing it now, your best bet is probably emulation. I won't go into any more details as I don't know this board's policy involving this type of thing.
