Joaquin Moreno has a Blade Runner web site call Jack Blade Runner, the pages are in spanish. Joaquin goes on to say "I would like to introduce you to Animal Runner, a comic book project by artist Miguel Angel Lacal. It is a comic book set in the universe of Blade Runner but with animals as main characters. Miguel Angel wants to tell the story of what happen before, so the comic book begins with the death of Roy Batty and we have a kind of a flashback to the past: the rebelion of the replicants, etc. Miguel Angel is very interested to know what do you think about his project. Also, if you have any good idea for the story, Miguel Angel will be grateful and apreciate it very much. You can check some pages of his comic book project.

Anthropomorphism is fairly common in comic books and its popularity has fluctuated over the years (witness the return of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the movie screen, characters that helped start off a black and white comic book revolution back in '84).

It's nice looking work for sure. I'm not much for "animal comics" and I don't think this really adds to the Blade Runner experience, but to each his own, I guess.

Certainly looks better than alot of the Marvel adaptation of the film, if you can get past the floppy ears. :P

i was very impressed with the site, and the artwork is superb.

it was only this very evening that somebody asked me to explain what bladerunner was all about, in no time i was explaining that all aspects of blade runner (especially the music) had been ripped and re-used in so much of todays modern tv programs, and uni`s have done whole papers on the psychological side of the whole concept...

a few beers later after dinner i eventually told him what it was about, and the response -

"If he knew she was a robot, why fall in love with her? sounds silly"

if only i had mentioned to my dinner guest that Racheal was special...

replicants aren't robots... that would be enough an answer.
