howdy all, new here, i'm from Italia and i'm a BR freak since '95 or sO. i introduced myself on the New Members section.

i got my nick "Planta" from the coat rack Zhora lays her snake on.

which is the same on Leon's room, right behind the door:

it's an existing coat rack, designed in 1972 by italian designer Giancarlo Piretti, which i personally know, and it's called "Planta". you can see some of Piretti's most known works HERE.

other Planta pics to follow:

actually, my workplace, where i'm typing from, is former Piretti's workplace. he sold us the office. one day i brought him my "bible" Future Noir and had him looking at the pic where Zhora's laying her snake on the Planta, he was like: "Hey, that's Planta! but what's this book?", "it's the Blade Runner book"... "Blade what?" and i was like Oh no... yeah, he didnt even know about BR, hehe. probably the most of you couldn't care less about it, but knowing how we BR freaks are looking for all those details we'll never end discover, i thought this was nice to share with you guys. because, like we all BR freaks know, you'll never end discovering details out of Blade Runner!

Eccellente!

I find it incredible that, after all these years, I am still learning something about this movie.

Thanks for sharing!

And I thought I was the first to discover this coat rack. I posted about it yesterday at propsummit.... I have been looking for it for a while and was very exited to find it. I wish they could be had more affordably in the united states though. I have a lot of Italian design furniture myself including some Joe Columbo Bobi carts. Very nice to have you here. :)

wow, and i thought nobody would be interested in a coat rack! well, that is a special coat rack  thanks guys!
and it's sad, we had a Planta at home from the '70s throughout the '80s till early '90s, then it became too old and my parents threw it away right before i discovered BR... how bad! i remember i liked to play with those pivoting arms when i was a child, pretty much like Zhora with her snake, and when i watched BR the first time i was like Damn! i used to do that throughout my childhood! hey mom, where's the coat rack? yeah the white one we always had? you threw it away!?! NNOOOO!!!

WOW. I guess there are not many of us that can actually say something like that. May be a trivial thing but I can't imagine how unbelievably cool it has to be to watch BR and say "oh, I used to do that!" 8) Thanks for sharing!

Now it is your mission to find planta coat racks for all of us..;)

I am going to continue searching to find one of those coat racks at a good price. I have found quite a few nice modern pieces at thrift stores here in Rochester. I also know many collectors here. Maybe someday I will get lucky and find one.

the Alfa Romeo spinner was originally called a Ferrari in the scripts. Though another was also called a Ferrari as well by the model makers.
