A book by K.W. Jeter: Bladerunner 2: The Edge of Human. He also wrote Bladerunner3: Replicant Night. Anybody read any of these?

I bought both of these from Amazon - I've only read the first one though...<BR><BR>I liked it a lot, but I'm not sure I totally agree with the direction of the story.<BR><BR>Jeter has written a third book - it's out about now I think - try searching Amazon...

I own both and have read both of them numerous times. The first book by Jeter is relatively interesting, but I must admit that I didn't care for the second one at all. Despite all of this, I still feel that he took too many liberties with the story as it was first laid out in the movie. I mean, the whole issue of Pris having been human was, to me, ridiculous. During Deckard's briefing by Bryant in the movie, the four replicants are shown with a stocking or something similar on their heads. I take it that these photos were taken after being manufactured, but before the products were released by, the Tyrell Corporation. I won't go on, since I'm assuming that you haven't read the book yet. However, the first book, while making for an interesting read, has a plot with more holes than a wheel of Swiss cheese. The second book, in my opinion, was a total waste of my time every time I read it. There is a third book in the series, but I've been unable to find it.

I read both books, and while Jeter is a prolific writer(I read his sci-fi novel Noir..pretty good, but dense as hell)his BR novels left me feeling empty. Intellectually, they are well-written, but no real emotional pay-off, but if you are a fan of BR, then I guess you should read them, but don't expect a conventional storyline. Instead, perhaps you should check out the FANFICTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like many others I hate Jeter's BR books. He tries to link DADoES to the film despite the fact they have some things in th m which are simply different, therefore he is failing before he starts. His arrogance in what he does to the characters is shocking. The second sequel is even worse as it is not very well written. I haven't read "Eye and Talon" yet, but am not interested.<BR><BR>Jeter's arrogance extends to BR fans. When asked about the mass criticism by Blade Runner fans of his "sequels", he was very scornful of the fans, making one wonder just who he was writing the books for.<BR><BR>As his own original stories are okay, I don't understand why he persists in writing this stuff in other people's universes.<BR>

I must admit that I am enjoy the story written in installments by fans that is shown on this website MUCH MORE than those "books" written by Mr. Jeter.
