Hi Folks.
Newbie here and i'll start with a question.
Anyone know the colour of Deckard's Sedan car?
Or can point me in the direction of nice clear shots of the car?
Ta!

It's kind of a brownish copper.
Do you need some reference pics?

Yeah, definately a brown/copper color. Probably a mettalic one too. Good question though, you think Gene Winfield would remember?

Yeah, this is what i need to nail down - the shade of the brown and is it metallic?
I've seen shots of what looks like the Sedan at a show or something but it's bright orange with numbers stencilled on it. Figure it's either not the Sedan (which i don't think can be right as the details in the boot look just right) or its had an inaccurate respray since filming.
The other question i need answering now is: what exactly does the flat disc thing on the roof look like? The only shot i've seen of it is on a garage kit and there it's half red, half white.
Any help would be appreciated.

'Maroon and Bronze' is a description that sticks in my head for some reason. Its either from FN or BR(The Inside Story).

according to this article on
Blade Zone it is indeed the bright orange one at the Police museum. It also doesn't look repainted and the knowing how subdued the colors in this movie were, it is possible that it is the movie seen color.
***UPDATE***
I just watched the movie again and in the scenes before deckard goes to the Bradbury, especially right after he pulls up to the bradbury there is enough light and a passing spotlight to see that the car is actually the Orange one shown at the police museum without the police decals. It also has the rd and white half moon circle on top. Throughout the movie there are scenes of multiple sedans next to eachother so quite a few were made.

Excellent - thanks for that
This is the trouble you get when building anything from a film with moody lighting - go for the actual colour scheme or how it appears on screen?
Pinhead from Hellraiser is another good example - the real-life skin tones or a blueish tint as seen in stills?
Think i'm gonna go for a mid-way between the orange and the brown.

From Bladezone, a production shot of the Sedan outside the Bradbury looking very maroon.

I was looking for that picture too...I couldn't find it anywere. That is the color I thought it was because of that picture. Unfortunately he gets out of an orange one at Sebastian's...of course I remember reading one time that they were rent a cars that anybody could just get in and drive off and then leave on the street side. So he could have used more than one of them. That would explain why he didn't give a crap that those kids(or whatever) were ripping stuff off of it. Those may have been the smaller ones that they were talking about though. That color is much better in the maroon/brown I think.
On another note...Why do they call it "Deckard's sedan" ? If it only has two doors wouldn't it be a coup?

From Future Noir (page 136)
According to the 1982 Blade Runner pressbook, Deckard's car (which had its own "stand in") is "a turbine-powered, maroon and bronze sedan with a solar-energy converter at the lower-right corner of the front windshield. The vehicle has 'twist-wrist' steering, four interior read-out screens, and gull-wing doors which open sideways"
I have a photo of the sedan somewhere (although not in digital format) where it is looking very maroon indeed, almost like a Dr Pepper can. I can't for the life of me find the damn thing, though.
