I was doing some research on the bootleg "alternate trailer and main titles" mp3, and I came across this.

I thought it was just audio. Can anyone tell me what this is and where it came from?

I found it originally in a larger filesize (75MB) so I shrank it down and I'm now encoding it to make it smaller for the dialup users.

Cheers for that. I don't have a clue where its from. It seems to be an edited version of the trailer that was included on the 'Maverick Directors' VHS version of the Directors Cut (which included much more of that 'i met her at the Tyrell Corporation..' narration, some out-takes of Rachel and Deckard and some crazy synth music).
The quality is much better on this. Fan made perhaps?

might be fan made, or it could be a decent transfer. im still looking into all this.

It is fan made...its too sloppy to be a real trailer. Plus I remember that music from the movie "The Shawshank Redemption".

I didn't like this trailer...as I said...the edits were sloppy, there was no real pace to it and the having the single track playing through out the trailer was pretty bad.

No pace and no more sounds/music. Yeah, too bad there's no flashy cuts, vocals, and the deep voice narration guy. That would really beef this one up into an action style trailer. Wait...is that what Blade Runner really needs?

Whether or not it was the actual alternate score for the film (the 'if I didn't care') it's still not the original teaser trailer. Fan made rehash sounds more like it. I doubt this is authentic at all. First...they'd never put on a song like that over the entire trailer, they'd want to have more musical scores shoved in as well as some moments without the song. Even back in the early eighties, they'd never have the trailer like this...not even a Teaser trailer would be this boring.

And zoomer_one is right. It's a fanmade trailer. It's mine. I wanted some honest ubiased opinions and I got them. Thanks.

It was a fun little project I started doing about a month or two back. Just for fun. But I decided to clean it up and add better titles and graphics. This is going on my editing and effects demo reel.

And to clarify, I used the bootleg "Alternate Trailer and Main titles" MP3 for all the audio. The video was ripped from the DVD and synced with the mp3 file. So all the speech had to be synced manually. I had to match up each audio cue with a visual that would fit in. The end titles "harrison ford" and "blade runner" were done to the style of the workprint opening credits. Not exactly, but in the same style.

I suspected 'someone' had recreated the credits because they are so 'shiney'. It's only when i compared them with the genuine one last night, that i realised they were also a little different. Even so, I think it's a good effort.

yeah, in the original they didn't use the blade runner movie font. they used something plain. I also added a little glow to the redness. That improved the look a lot. They were made in After Effects, and motion graphics arent my strongest skills, so it was all just a nice test to see what I can get done. I'm mostly about the video editing, with a little effects and graphics on the side.

A good effort on your hoax there THX...(sorry to call your editing techniques...sloppy. :lol:

) But the one music track going right through the whole trailer is what gave it away to me. (as well as some of the film splices...heh!)

I did like how you got the title to flare at the end...nice touch.

No problem. Negative reviews were kind of what I was really looking for. Honest, unbiased, as I said.

Yeah, I didn't want to add any extra audio. I was going to, but decided against it, and I went and used only the audio from the mp3 bootleg. And as far as editing, I basically watched blade runner frame-by-frame, and made cuts where the camera would cut, and I worked from there. As you might imagine, it took a while. I was also thinking about using some dissolves for transitions, but straight cuts looked best to me. And that green "preview" screen at the beginning and the title credits at the end were all last minute things i did right before i rendered the final video.
