I'm just wondering how this so called esper productions get away with it..

surely theyre not a lefit outfit ?

ive got the los angeles 2019 cd and to be frank its not that great..why do people shell out so much for what seems to me to be the off world bootleg with 'other' stuff on it..

The people who created Esper Productions are not the same people who are hawking an endless supply of ?rarities? on eBay. There were only 10 original discs produced of the Esper and LA November 2019. None of these were sold, they were given to a few collectors and friends. The Esper discs were never intended as a commercial product. The Off World version was.

You mentioned you have the L.A. November 2019 version. This must not be to what you are referring with your complaint about the similarity to the Off World release. These two releases are quite different. The L.A. 2019 disc is mainly atmospheric sounds and music taken from the Westwood game. It?s purpose was not a soundtrack release but rather a series of cuts to evoke certain moods in the game and film.

Hey Nexuzix,

We are both only 5 posts away from Senior Rep Detect. We should carry on mindless chitchat until we get there .... so .... How's it going?

I'm from Kansas City. How about you? I noticed the thread where the person posted the links to downloads of some rare bootlegs. I followed the link to the Off World Edition and it was merely snippets of each of the tracks. I actually have originals of all of the releases he posted, even one each of the original ten Esper and 2019 releases.

I'm from Glasgow,Scotland....all the original cds eh?... wow

I'd have probably sold them all on ebay by now

Is the link you went to the russian one ? I went to that one and it actually downloads any tracks that you tick the box for...all the rapidshare links didnt work tho,it kept expecting me to upload a file for some reason...pretty impressive bunch of links if it works tho.

Whats the best BR cd you have then ?

I like the one that?s known as the ?2001? edition. It was one of the first bootlegs that was professionally mastered and edited. I really like the flow of tracks, even if it isn?t as complete as some of the other bootlegs. The original Esper is great for content, cohesiveness, and completeness (just a little alliteration) but some of the audio sources are slightly muddy for my taste. A have a couple of Esper ?copycat? releases (mk2, mk3, ? ad ifinitum) that use some better sources than the original, but those were done by folks looking for a quick buck on eBay so it?s really hard for me to give them any credit. Also some of the cleaner tracks have very suspicious origins (Some claim them to be ?newly available? Vangelis mixes, but they are more likely very accurate copies with the parts re-performed by another musician)

The only cd i have bought is the most common one ...with Rachels song Damask rose etc ,everything else i have downloaded over the years.

A guy on this forum Crspy32 sent me a copy of the ambient esper thing...

La 2019 , i cant say i was all that impressed tho ,maybe only a couple of tracks worth listening to.

Other than that ive done my own mixes of 'the love theme' ,its got the rumble of thunder from the film and the piano section blended in...works pretty nice..

Also took the part before the love scene ,probably called 'i am the business' on the esper edition edited it slightly with soundforge and cubase and called it
'prelude to love'

I could go on but i dont want to bore ya !

ok thats 98

Sounds great! I also have a pretty large amount of webspace that we could use to upload the materials to do the exchange (if you would prefer that method over mailing the CDs).

Congratulations (in advance) on achieving Senior Rep Detector.

Thank you ,fellow senior rep detector !

Uploading/downloading might not be the best method for me as my broadband account is not live yet (at least thats what they tell me) so i'm reduced to using a 56k connection for now:?

I dont mind burning a disc tho, maybe buy the time i send it my broadband might be working..
