Just thought i would list some other things that share the name Blade Runner that i have come across so far.

Actual items with Blade Runner name:
Helicopter, cutting instrument, computer virus, speed boat, shaving cream, dive knife, turbine casing, cleaning bar in a print machine, storage case, protective gloves, magic trick, motor cycle windshield, skates, cast iron steering device for trams, carbon fibre artificial leg for sports use.
I will say it before you do, sad git got nothing better to do!!

What about the brand of roller blade skates?

yeah, my mom has those rollerblades, the bladerunners.

but what about analagous references? anyone remember the film "The Razor's Edge?" - awesome remake in 1984 starring Bill Murray - but the original was made in 1946.

it seems the two are getting at the same idea.

i dont know - maybe this has been covered already, but there seems to be some similarity (not in the films, but the suggestive titles). i would even gander that Burroughs (who originally coined the term Blade Runner) read this story and was influenced/borrowed his title from it.
