Vangelis is my favorite musician of all-time
In my opinion he has made the best song ever created, Chariots of Fire. The song was made for the magnificent movie with the same name.

Any other opinions?

He is good, but so is John Williams.

I'm also a computer music guy. As the last Demo Scene man in my high school.. I stand back to those heretics
My Music Collection All of them are free to download. As long as you don't say that the music is made by you.
Ojuice.org <-- Is the best place to find out about the Demo Scene.

Anyways.. I'll stop talking, I got to make a music library for Assembly 2001

Hi,
in my opinion Vangelis is much better than john williams. Williams has a much larger body of work as far as soundtracks go but listen to them, with the exeption of the jaws theme a lot of his work is very similar, you could put this down to style if you want but i think Vangelis' skill at experimentation has helped him reinvent his style as time has passed.

I agree with that, John Williams is copying himself, but the work of Vangelis is extremely clever, original and he is definitely not copying himself, just hear the difference between for instance Chariots of Fire (the greatest ever) and Conquest of Paradise.

It's becase of vangelis i started to learn to play the piano, i wanted to learn to play memories of green so i bought a cheap keyboard, a few months later i found an italian vangelis book in a second-hand shop and along with several pieces from chariots of fire and other albums was memories of green, i couldn't believe it such an amazing coincidence.
But I'm not a big Vangelis fan. He is a good musician in his field of music. But my taste of music is so wide, that i got many favorite musicians
