Here's the deal.... There may be a little delay....
Some of the footage was lost so it has to be re-filmed.....

I have completed three of the four CG sections for the trailer and they are on there way to the director....

I have begun remodelling the spinner with the new reference book I picked up.

Apart from that, everything is peachy! :)

Eventually. :)

I can't believe the difference in my meshes. The original had all the details but the proportions were way off. It was too narrow, too long, and too tall. Also my modeling techniques must have improved, because the original spinner mesh (extermal parts only) topped out at 60,000 polygons. This new spinner is half done and it's only at 14,000.

kool. well, the other spinner is still usefull. it makes a nice "model 19 spinner". kinda like the VW bug. they all look almost the same, but the different years provide a little different looks. like some of them, the earlier ones, the fenders and curved more, the windows on the back are curved more, just little details like that (my dad owned 3 bugs). its still a good model though, so dont think of it as a mistake, think of it as a contribution to blade runner.

yes. but I'm going to finish modeling an texturingthe outside first. Like the external mesh, the inside had all the basc forms, but the details and sizes were way off.

i must feel me ashame, cos i haven't posted on your amazing craftmanship till i saw your post in the Br project forum.

Well it's so far the most realistic looking cgi spider spinner.
very well done, it is clear to see that the Spinnen Docuhon gave you all the info you had to know.

Keep it up :)

Just wanted to let everyone know who's been following this thread that the trailer will be done very soon. We will also be launching the website for the film at the same time. I will be making VHS copies of the trailer available along with our short lighting test, and some other goodies available for free. Anyone interested PM me with your address.

Well, been a while but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. The death of my grandmother hit me pretty hard and so I slacked off on everything for about three weeks....Anyway, one of my friends asked me how I was doing the city and so I sent him an e-mail--this was the basic gist:

I started out with about 5 different skydome textures (section of one shown below)

Image

Then I began rendering sections of the city in layers. After about 22 layers I came up with a city scape that wraps completely around the city scene (section shown below)

Image

Then I began rendering the layers for the middle ground buildings

Next I added a layer of smog/fog

More layers to come.... :)
