Anyone know about the 'Bible codes'? It's hilarious. Basically, the entire text of the bible (don't know which 'flavour') is searched in an infinited number of ways by a computer program and low-and-behold, would you 'adam-and-eve' it, they've found 'keywords' on certain pages that 'accurately' predicted catastrophic events. It's a load of balone and the religious zealots have swallowed it hook, line and sinker. Kudos to the 'scientist' who discovered the codes though, he's making a fortune from the book sales...

Do you mean he's (Deckard) NOT a replicant, or Batty doesn't know Deckard is human?

Btw, remember the reason for this thread? I solved the problem of the plot hole. Yes, me, Leon, the dummest of all replicants! It's not a plot hole at all! How did Batty witnessed all these things (attack ships, C-beams)? He didn't! Memories! Implanted memories!

You solved one plot hole to create another: Roy didn't have any implants, that's why he's emotionally instable and Tyrell had to limit his life-span to 4 years. If he did have memory implants, he wouldn't be instable, thus he'd problably have a longer lifespan and could have seen anything he wanted.
Besides, it's not really a plot hole. :)

Hehe, not too many options there.

Personally I think he's a human.
But if he's a Rep, Batty probably doesn't know.
He told Deckard "...you people wouldn't believe.." afterall.

Well, before Batty hassled Tyrell he went to a doctor on Mars Colonies who claimed he could prolong his lifespan with these "black market" implants. The trouble with illegal implants is that they can generate memories but not extend life expectancy. Didn't you know that, Luba?

I know about that doctor on Mars Colonies, but Roy didn't get the implants. What I heard is that he went there, figured that the doctor was a fraud and killed him. Even though Leon almost fell for it. That's when Roy had to get him those pictures to cheer him up.

yes good point, could have been implanted memories, BUT memories from a completely fictional database or from a database based on true events? Also how do we know exactly which of Roy's memories were real or implanted? Mabye the attack ships are real memories but the C-beams are implants? :?

Or all events Deckard experienced in the movie Blade Runner are nothing more but implanted memories...

Dick would be pleased! :P

Gosh, and we have starting point for BR2 plot!
It's better than Dallas series - 154 episodes long Pamela Ewing's dream!

Sounds more like a remake/sequel of "Total Recall".

To be boring and technical, this is a c-beam (fictional of course)

Most artillery energy weapons cannot fire a continuous beam burst, only standard bursts or pulses. But with some modifications almost any energy weapon can be made to fire a continuous beam burst, the advantage of continuous beam burst is its penetrating capability and the massive amount of damage inflicted. These are amongst the most dangerous conventional weapons of the military's arsenal and is only used in 'last resort' situations, in the 'fog of war' and usual mass confusion, usage of this weapon often results in multiple 'friendly fire' incidents. Most field Generals scorn this weapon.
