Westworld was a good one, and then Futureworld after that..... About human looking robots that get self aware.

And then there is The Clonus Horror. This is more like BR even though it doesn't have robots but it deals with the "Why am I here" issue.....

The so called bad guys in br remind me of the 3 super villians in superman 2 . Leon's kinda like the biggest dumb one ,only leon's smarter . Ridley said the replics. were like supermen that couldn't fly.

There was an article in the L.A. Weekly about seven years ago that presented an "alternate" take on the greatest American movies of the last thirty years, and BR was one of the top three. The article referred to BR as the "most visually influential American movie of the last twenty years." Seven years later, it's still hard to argue against that.

'The Matrix' is the obvious - maybe too obvious - example. But think of Terry Gilliam's 'Brazil' (made only 4 years later), and the rainy industrial-wasteland chase sequence with Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey in David Fincher's 'Se7en' (which for some is more of an outright ripoff than an homage). Or Anton Furst's production design for Gotham City in Tim Burton's 'Batman' (equal parts 'Metropolis' and BR), or the cityscapes of 'The Fifth Element'. I still haven't seen 'Dark City,' but I understand it's way up there on the list of BR-inspired movies. And that's just for starters...

I was even rewatching Scorsese's 'The Departed' yesterday for a St. Patty's Day kick, and look at the sequence where Leonardo DiCaprio is trailing Matt Damon through the nighttime streets of Boston, through the back alleys of the Asian marketplace, with the steam and rain and neon: total BR homage, even if it lasts for all of two minutes of screen time. (Martin Scorsese has cited BR as being one of his 10 favorite widescreen movies of all time, so obviously he's well acquainted with BR's groundbreaking visuals.)

BR is still an impossibly rich treasure trove for moviemakers the world over who are looking for visual, dramatic and/or thematic inspiration.

When bryant says "drink some for me pal", it reminds me of The Big Sleep with Humphery Bogart, when he's hired by this old man to do some detective work concerning his daughter. The old fellow's health is fading, and he like's to see others enjoy themselves. There's also a scene in that movie that's somewhat similar to the scene with deckard's voice disquise ,when he's talking to zhora.

The shiny white tunnel that Deckard drives through reminds me of the one you see in Steven King's The Dead Zone with Christopher Walken. Walken plays a man that see's things that haven't happened yet,the future. :P There's also a Tunnel like the one Deck drives through, I think in the movie Flash Dance, that was made around the same time as br.
