I think you might have the documentary and the deleted scenes featurette conflated with the Final Cut. The Final Cut is not going to be so far removed from the original that it's "a whole other film." Don't worry about that. The other new stuff...that's what you might be thinking of.

I think maybe Masao is just trying to be provocative in a good way to get us to discuss the implications of this dvd set on 25 years of speculation about the movie's construction and it's intentional themes. Unfortunately his wording (or lack of) leaves him open for misinterpretation.
