I did remember (from where I can't recall) seeing another Tyrell emerging from the shadows after the first Tyrell was killed. There was some mention of him being a better chess player than that.

He confirmed that scene was shot.

Odd experience having a memory of something supposedly non-existant and the having it confirmed.

Anyway, Eldon Tyrell was a Replicant...at least during filming.

Mr. Turkel still had not seen BR at the time you met him?.. a couple years ago? Wow!

In his new book, Rutger said the cameras were not rolling initially with the fake Tyrell head. The wires & smoke coming out after the head falls on the floor was in the script while filming but, the script was changed on the spot(before cameras rolled). They wanted to use the fake head though, and filmed Mr. Hauer squeezing it a few times with the blood coming out (no wires, just blood) when he asked Ridley,"Can't I just squeeze Joe's head?" The rest is history.

RH also said that, years later, he found out Turkel's father was dying while they were filming. This, coupled with Joe never having seen the movie, kinda makes me think his memories of when the camera was rolling or not may be a bit murky. Or maybe, RH is wrong... who knows.

Anyway, to stay on topic...
This was the 1st scene Hauer filmed for BR. In which case, Tyrell was human in the final product and during filming - But, a Rep in the script originally.
