Expanded Edition of Future Noir?

THX's post about Paul Sammon and his hope for an expanded edition of Future Noir in the deleted materials topic got me to thinking...

Anyone know if Sammon is still working on getting his expanded edition of FN published. I would think that with the announcement of the Final Cut he would either be able to find a publisher or he might be waiting until after the release to do more interviews, etc. for a "Final Edition".

Anyone know?

I hope that the expanded edition gets published...wish I knew more.

on the related subject, why where the deleted scenes not talked about within Future noir? i mean, he was there and also noted the hospital scene and also scenes never filmed like the grand zhora snakepit scene?

300 PAGES??? That's another book all together. ooooohhh...I can only hope he is able to publish more. I have been reading his articles in the Cinefantastique double issue and have read things I have never heard before. He also published an article in the magazine Video Watchdog on the 7 different versions of Blade Runner, and I was wondering if that was exerpted in the Future Noir book as well?

Watchdog was wrong. As of then, there were only 5. I never count any of the TV versions. As of now, there are 6.

Just what did Watchdog count as their 7??

I guess they said TV but there are several TV versions depending o nthe channel. Anyway, many movies have a TV version, and therefore, I have never counted them.

So, there is no way the final cut was on their list. What else was there?

in Future noir Sammon lists 6 versions...
1-workprint(same as denver dallas sneaks)
2-san diego sneak preview
3-domestic cut
4-international cut
5-director's cut
6-broadcast cut(I count it too...because it is the closest thing to the domestic cut shown)

...I don't know what 7 coud be.

The problem is that there is no one version of the broadcast cut. They are all either based off of the domestic cut or the directors cut and they are basically the same, with the exception that they are fullframe and edited for time and content, with swearing removed.

Its enitirely possible they could be referenceing two broadcast cuts.

Yes, 300 pages is another whole book. It would be nice to read all of it.

It would also be nice to see if mistakes are cleared up.

Anyone who disputes Sammon's information has taken a lot of flak for it. Now, with the original WC gun and props being produced after all these years, some of the contrary information has been validated.
